Jennifer Connelly was born in the Catskill Mountains region of New York to Ilene and Gerard Connelly. Her mother worked as an antique dealer, while her father was employed in clothing manufacturing.

Connelly’s childhood was spent in Brooklyn Heights, a neighborhood adjacent to the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. He received his education at St. Ann’s private school, except for the period of four years when her family resided in Woodstock.

Jennifer Connelly began her modeling career after a family friend recommended it. She started by appearing in newspaper and magazine ads and later transitioned to television commercials. Connelly then decided to pursue acting and began auditioning for film roles.
